Stereotactic Breast Biopsy Prep

Discuss any medications you are taking with the physician when you make your appointment. You will be asked to discontinue the use of blood-thinning medications, including aspirin and aspirin-like products, a number of days prior to the procedure.

• Please do not wear any deodorant before the procedure.
  
• Eat a light meal before the procedure.
  
• Wear a comfortable, two piece garment.
  

The entire stereotactic breast biopsy should take approximately one hour.

Unaccompanied children: Please do not bring children with you unless they are the patient scheduled for the exam. If adult patients must bring children with them, we do ask that another adult supervisory be available.
