Dexa Scan (Bone Densitometry) Prep

• If possible, please wear clothing free of buttons, zipper or snaps of any kind.
  
• The patient should not have had any contrast studies (Upper GI’s barium enemas, CT scans, etc.) or nuclear medicine studies within the last seven (7) days prior to appointment.
  
• Please report 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Patients who are more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule.
  

Unaccompanied children: Please do not bring children with you unless they are the patient scheduled for the exam. If adult patients must bring children with them, we do ask that another adult supervisory be available.
