Coronary CTA Prep
- Take your usual medicines on the morning of the test.
- If you were prescribed MEDROL, please follow written instructions.
- For appointment before 12:00 noon, no solid food 3 hours before exam, may drink clear liquids.
- For appointment 12:00 noon or after, light breakfast followed by clear liquids.
- No smoking or caffeine on the day of the test.
- No ED medicines (i.e. Viagra, Levitra or Cialis) 48 hours before test.
If you have asthma, have a previous reaction to IV contrast, or a life threatening reaction to medications, your doctor may want to prescribe a steroid prep, which is as follows:
- 32 mg Medrol – 12 hours prior to exam time
- 32 mg Medrol – 2 hours prior to exam time
Unaccompanied children: Please do not bring children with you unless they are the patient scheduled for the exam. If adult patients must bring children with them, we do ask that another adult supervisory be available.
