MRI

Most of the MRIs that we perform do not require any special preparation prior to arrival. Exceptions include an MRI of the abdomen/pelvis which requires you to have nothing to eat or drink 6 hours prior to the MRI.

Pelvic MRIs performed to evaluate rectal cancer will be given instructions for an enema morning of exam to help in obtaining best possible images.

Unaccompanied children: Please do not bring children with you unless they are the patient scheduled for the exam. If adult patients must bring children with them, we do ask that another adult be present to supervise.

If you have any questions, you may reach us at 301.714.4200.
